- PBIA & JetBlue Announce Direct Daily Service to San Juan
Palm Beach County travelers can now add San Juan, Puerto Rico to their itinerary. Beginning on May 15, 2012, Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) and JetBlue Airways will be providing a daily, non-stop flight to and from San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport (SJU).
- PBC Criminal Justice Commission to Host 23rd Citizens Justice Academy
The Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Commission is now taking applications for its 23rd Citizens Justice Academy. The 10-week program runs from Jan. 12, 2012 through March 15, 2012. Classes are held on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Plenty for Kids to Do at Daggerwing in January
The following programs and events will be held at Daggerwing Nature Center in January 2012. Daggerwing is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in South County Regional Park at 11200 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, west of Boca Raton.
- January Events at Green Cay Nature Center
All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call (561) 966-7000 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Green Cay Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located at 12800 Hagen Ranch Road, west of Boynton Beach.
- New NENA Trail Open to Public
The Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management is pleased to announce the opening of a new multiuse trail within the Northeast Everglades Natural Area (NENA) -- the Historic Jupiter Indiantown Trail.
- Ground Covers Offer a Good Substitute for Grass
Ground covers are low growing plants in close proximity to one another used to cover and adorn areas where grass will not grow or is not desired. Ground covers have an advantage over grass in that they are useful plants for trying situations.
- "Pets Are Priceless" Holiday Adoption Promotion at Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control
You don’t want to miss out on this amazing chance to meet your new best friend. Until the end of the year, approved adopters will be able to take advantage of a range of adoption fees from free to $45 by spinning the “Pets Are Priceless” Holiday Wheel.
- 19th Annual Santa Paws & Claws Shelter Pet Toy Project Underway
Please help a shelter dog or cat find a new home for the holidays! Donate a new toy for a homeless animal during the Santa Paws & Claws Pet Toy Project at Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. This year's well-needed project will take place through Jan. 7, 2012.
