Historic Court House Retains Traditional Spelling
When looking at the west side of the 1916 Palm Beach County Historic Court House you may wonder why the word courthouse is spelled with two words. According to the dictionary and the new courthouse across the street, it is one word. As spelled on the cornerstone, however, in the early 1900s it was spelled with two words. In keeping with this tradition, the name of the building is used according to the original spelling and capitalization. ### |
