Announcement: Palm Beach County has created the Department of Economic Sustainability (DES), combining programs for business development, housing, and community initiatives. This department's mission is:

To advance community sustainability by increasing economic competitveness and improving the elements that create a high quality of life for Palm Beach County's residents.

The new website is currently under construction, but please check back often for further updates. If you are presently interested in programs for business assistance and economic development, visit EDO. For housing assistance and community development initiatives, visit HCD.

HUBZone Program

 

Federal Contracting Preferences. The Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone Empowerment Contracting Program provides contracting opportunities for qualified small businesses located in urban and rural areas. This program is designed to promote economic development and employment growth, and is managed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). A business will need to qualify for and obtain HUBZone certification.

Do you need technical assistance?

Coastal & Glades Communities. The HUBZone designated areas in the coastal area are dispersed. Whereas, the entire Glades Community of Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay and the surrounding unincorporated area all have a HUBZone designation.
