Juno Beach Shoreline History

• The beach was first nourished with offshore sand in 2001
• Several major storm events have accelerated shoreline erosion in this area
• Nourished beaches typically have a life of 5 to 10 years before renourishment is required

• From 1 mile north to 1.4 miles south of the Juno Pier in the Towns of Jupiter and Juno Beach
• An equipment staging area was located in Loggerhead Park

• Ongoing erosion is threatening A1A, infrastructure, and beach habitat

• Added approximately 1 million cubic yards of sand to the coastal system to act as a sacrificial berm
• Planted over 50,000 native sea oat plants to restore the eroded dune south of the Juno Pier
