Natural Areas Mobile Maps

ERM recently created a map of our natural areas that's viewable on most mobile devices. The map shows the outline boundary of the natural area along with the hiking/nature trails and public use facilities. If your mobile device has a GPS (most do), you'll be able to see your location on the map.

The map is available through the free ArcGIS map app by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI). This app is available on the iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone 7 mobile devices.

  1. In App Store, download the free ESRI ArcGIS app.
  2. Once installed, open the app and select the "Maps" button in the upper left corner.
  3. Then select the magnifying glass icon and type ERM.
  4. Select the ERM Natural Areas map.
  5. The map will display a pin at each natural area. As you zoom in, the trails and public use facilities will appear.
  6. To change the basemap, select the Information icon (i) in the lower right corner of the screen. Then select the Content table to see the basemap options.
NOTE: The basemap option is available only on the iPhone/iPad.

The above installation instructions are for the iphone, please note the functionality and features of the app vary with each mobile operating system and type.
