Coordinating with state agencies and local governments to acquire and manage natural areas, protect wildlife corridors, and design and maintain greenways and trails
Preparing and revising management plans for County-managed natural areas - click here for a list of natural areas for which management plans have been completed
Preparing grant applications for state matching funds for acquisition and management of natural areas and construction of public use facilities
Providing support for meetings, field trips, and other activities of the Natural Areas Management Advisory Committee
Providing technical assistance to other ERM staff for location of public use facilities and trail amenities, grant applications for habitat restoration projects, permitting, review of proposed development projects, vegetation and wildlife surveys, and controlled burns
Designing, permitting, and monitoring of wetland mitigation projects within county-managed natural areas; these projects provide both funding and long-term protection for the natural areas
