Our goal is to provide planning and coordination support for the land acquisition and land management activities of the Natural Resources Stewardship Division and to participate in interagency coordination related to these activities. Current activities include:

Coordinating with state agencies and local governments to acquire and manage natural areas, protect wildlife corridors, and design and maintain greenways and trails |

Preparing grant applications for state matching funds for acquisition and management of natural areas and construction of public use facilities |

Providing support for meetings, field trips, and other activities of the Natural Areas Management Advisory Committee |

Providing technical assistance to other ERM staff for location of public use facilities and trail amenities, grant applications for habitat restoration projects, permitting, review of proposed development projects, vegetation and wildlife surveys, and controlled burns |

Designing, permitting, and monitoring of wetland mitigation projects within county-managed natural areas; these projects provide both funding and long-term protection for the natural areas |
