Ethics Implementation Advisory Committee Holds Second Meeting
On March 10, the Ethics Implementation Advisory Committee held its second meeting. Human Resources staff advised that a total of 98 applications for the Inspector General position were received with 85 percent meeting the minimum qualifications. The position of executive director for the Commission on Ethics received 48 applications and 70 percent of those met the minimum qualifications. Budget staff further advised that a special fee to help pay for the Inspector General's office had officially been implemented via countywide policy #CW-F-081. Training programs for both BCC employees and advisory board members have been developed and are available on this Web site. Committee members discussed getting the Commision on Ethics additional background information on the history of the ethics initiative. They commended county staff for its commitment to the effort thus far. They also discussed the fraud hotline and what types of fraud citizens should report. The committee's next meeting is scheduled for April 14th at 3.p.m. # # #
