New Equestrian Facility Opens in Jupiter Farms Park
Area residents and horse enthusiasts were among the several guests who enjoyed the grand-opening event of the county’s new equestrian facility in Jupiter Farms Park on June 20. The celebration included equestrian demonstrations and displays presented by local organizations including the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, Community Connection, the Equine Rescue Adoption Foundation, Rabadan Ranch and the Pony Club. County staff and officials also provided information about future plans for Jupiter Farms Park, nearby Riverbend Park, a new county fire station under construction and the Northeast Everglades Natural Area. Afterward, guests enjoyed the annual pig roast hosted by Veronica Bellew and Chuck Russo of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association. The Jupiter Farms Park Equestrian Facility includes an equestrian ring, warm-up area and parking that can accommodate horse trailers. It is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department as an unsupervised recreational area. The Jupiter Farms Horsemen’s Association, Inc. is the coordinating partner with the county. The facility is dedicated in memory of long-time residents William T. and Geertruida E. Bellew. The facility is located at 16655 Jupiter Farms Road in Jupiter. From Florida’s Turnpike or I-95, exit west at Indiantown Road, turn left on Jupiter Farms Road and go west on Randolph Siding Road. The entrance to the equestrian facility is a quarter mile on the left. For more information, call 966-6600. # # #
