Commissioner Marcus to Host Tour of Juno Dunes FIND Leased Parcel July 13

Reporters and photographers are invited to join County Commission Chair Karen Marcus and other partners for the opening of new public-use facilities at the Florida Inland Navigation District’s (FIND) leased parcel, which is part of the county’s Juno Dunes Natural Area (west tract).

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 13 at 9 a.m. Commissioner Marcus will host a short opening ceremony followed by a tour of the public-use facilities led by Department of Environmental Resources Management staff.

The new facilities include a concrete floating dock with a water taxi slip, a boardwalk over wetlands, a two-story observation tower, an informational kiosk and picnic tables.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Reporters and photographers attending this event must call ahead to reserve transportation from the Juno Dunes Natural Area parking lot to the project site. Transportation will begin at 8:30 a.m.
  • Casual dress and comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • There are no restroom facilities available at this site.

DIRECTIONS from I-95:  Exit at Donald Ross Road and go east about 4 1/2 miles. Go north on US Highway 1 approximately one-half mile. The Juno Dunes Natural Area (west tract) is on the west side of US 1.
