Commissioner Santamaria Attends Press Conference Announcing Debut of "The Science Tunnel: An Exhibition of the Max Planck Society"
September 22, 2008 A press conference was held at the South Florida Science Museum on Sept. 22 to announce that the internationally-renowned Science Tunnel exhibit of the Max Planck Society will make its U.S. debut in Palm Beach County. The Science Tunnel, a sophisticated, interactive multimedia show that offers visitors a fascinating trip into the realm of scientific discoveries, debuted in Ludwigshafen, Germany in 2005. It has traveled to Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai, Brussels, Johannesburg, Seoul and Berlin. Palm Beach County will be its first location in the United States. The exhibition features video stations and hands-on exhibits. Visitors can observe dancing atoms and molecules at work, discover the roots of human culture or fight a virus before it infects the body. Bank of America is the presenting sponsor of the exhibition that will open on Jan. 16, 2009 at the South Florida Science Museum in West Palm Beach. Commissioner Santamaria personally donated $100,000 to the Max Planck Society. # # #
