We are pleased that you're considering a volunteer internship with the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. Our internship program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications, all while under the supervision of dedicated recreation professionals. Our program offers a multi-faceted experience that allows you to explore various components of recreation and ultimately discover your greatest areas of interest.

OBJECTIVES
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a program or special event
- Create internship goals
- Visit and observe other area agencies
REQUIREMENTS
- University approval to participate in program
- Complete internship survey and application
- Interview with prospective supervisor
- Availability to work up to 40 hours per week, including some nights and weekends
- Pass all Palm Beach County intern/volunteer requirements including background screening
- Agree to abide by all county policies and procedures
- Agree to complete a post internship evaluation
GETTING STARTED
- Complete and submit Internship Interest Survey (Interested students may call to discuss details of internship requirements or intern position availability prior to completing Interest Survey)
- An interview will be conducted if student meets the basic requirements and a position is available
- After a successful interview, Intern Candidate will be asked to complete an application
- An offer for the internship position can be made if the candidate successfully completes/passes the application and screening process
